Location: Top of the clocktower in Tanjavur (200 m)      by: Wolfgang Schmähling
Area: India      Date: August 2007
The clocktower is the highest building within the Nayak palace area. The palace buildings and premises can be seen on the right side, still telling tales from their former glory, beautiful arched hallways and courtyards with exotic gardens. Now it is a museum, a bit run down like many public sites in India. On the horizon you can see the mandapam and gopuram of the Brihadesvara Temple. On the left there is the typical sight of simple Indian housing, always looking very colorful from above.
It's monsoon time, as you can see from the dense clouds and the big puddle, which has remained from last nights rainfall.
