I was on typical safari ride for tourist. Quite nice experience. Felt like the Dakar rally. The visit to the Bedouin village was too quick and short for me. Camel ride, bread baking show, 180-year-old tortoise sighting, tea and weaving. Typical mass tourism, this is not what I like. But in Egypt, exploring on your own is very limited for safety reasons. I was very intrigued by the mountains of the Red Sea, especially the highest peak - Jabal Shayib al Banat. I found on the internet that there is something like the Red Sea Mountain Trail, the ascent to the top takes three days, with a Bedouin guide. Something to think about for the future, provided I have a successful knee operation.
