Moruga is a small remote village on the South central coast of Trinidad.

Discoverer Columbus, who 'found' and named the Island Trinidad, is said to first have landed here. My wife has family history in this region.

Visiting Moruga on an rainy and overcast day near the end of our vacation felt like stepping back in time. I feel like saying "there's Island time" (everything moving slowly) and then there is Moruga time. This is a capture of an ancient cemetery near the beach, Columbus Monument & Heritage Park.

Very interesting both the history and the landscape.

Looks slow indeed. If not to say dead. And the monument is not particularly monumental. Thanks for showing. Cheers, Martin

Friedhofspanos sind selten auf PP. Aber dennoch zeigenswert.
