Am Tag nach Stymphalos und Mikri Ziria (davon bei Gelegenheit noch mehr) war erst einmal das Wetter schlecht und Dauerregen mit Gewittern war vorhergesagt. Also wurde das Wanderprogramm durch Kulturprogramm ersetzt, und ich hatte viel Glück: Bei den Außenbesichtigungen blieb es trocken. Die Ausgrabungen des alten Korinth hatte ich 2016 nicht ansehen können, obwohl ich im darum gewachsenen Ort (nicht zu verwechseln mit dem modernen Korinth an der Küste) übernachtet hatte. In der Corona-Saison ohne Busse und Reisegruppen (aber diszipliniert eingehaltener Maskenpflicht im Museum) war dies ein besonderer Genuss. Einige wenige andere Touristen streunten durchs weite Gelände, nie war jemand im Bild, und man konnte die Ruinen und die Historie ungestört auf sich wirken lassen. Und oben drüber grüßte mein liebgewonnener Aussichtpunkt Akrokorinth (jüngst in Vorfreude auf die Reise nochmals auf #28114 und #28177 gezeigt). Am letzten Tag der Reise vor dem Rückflug und dem zweiten Schlechtwettertag, 10 Tage später, sollte ich es nochmal kurz dort hinaus schaffen.

On the day after Stymphalos and Mikri Ziria the weather was bad and continuous rain with thunderstorms was predicted. So the hiking programme was replaced by a cultural programme, and I was very lucky: during the outdoor visits it stayed dry. I had not been able to visit the excavations of ancient Corinth in 2016, although I had stayed overnight in the village that has grown around it (not to be confused with modern Corinth on the coast). In the Corona season without coaches and travel groups (but disciplined adherence to the mask wearing in the museum) this was a special pleasure. A few other tourists wandered through the vast area, no one was ever in the picture, and one could enjoy the ruins and the history undisturbed. And on top of that my beloved viewpoint Acrocorinth (recently shown again on #28114 and #28177 in anticipation of the trip) greeted me. On the last day of the trip before the return flight and the second bad weather day, 10 days later, I should make it up there again.
