SOLVED RIDDLE.
Vathia is a kind of fortress village, located in the Mani peninsula, in south-east Laconia (Peloponnese).
It is characterized by the so-called tower-houses.
For my taste, it is a place of great charm.
The village had been abandoned by its inhabitants, becoming a ghost town. In recent decades it had been rediscovered and there had been some attempts at restructuring. As can be seen, the restructuring was however only partial.
