SOLVED RIDDLE.
https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grabmal_der_Caecilia_Metella The Tomb of Caecilia Metella (Mausoleo di Cecilia Metella) is a mausoleum located just outside Rome at the three mile marker of the Via Appia. It was built during the 1st century BC to honor Caecilia Metella who was daughter of a consul and wife of a quaestor. The Tomb of Caecilia is one of the most well known and well preserved monuments along the Via Appia Antica. The tomb was visited by Goethe in 1786. Goethe wanted to be portrayed in a famous painting with this tomb in the background. https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goethe_in_der_Campagna |

The scooter is not from Goethe....
He did not visit it on a scooter, but, in a sense, he took a selfie....

Jokes apart, it is a famous painting.
The round tower in the background in the center of the painting is that of this building (to the left), as it was in the days of Goethe.
