Here is how Terneuzen bay and skyline look like about 15 min after sunset. Tide is about - 1.2 m NAP.

in my opinion the strength of this website isn´t the rating system. I could do without it. For me it is very interesting to see current panos from all over the world in mostly very good quality. In addition, many comments are very helpful and encouraging feedback. If you leave this site, I would miss your wounderful panos from Terneuzen very much.
Best regards, Benjamin

can only support Benjamin and Jörg. I actually had a similar moment of rage 10 days ago on alpen-panoramen.de, but have deleted my comment after an hour.
Yes, the rating system cannot be expected to be fair. If you post an interesting panorama on a weekend like the last one that turns out to be very quiet on the platform, you will get slightly less attention than on a busy day, even though quite a lot of us are diligent in looking at missed panos after an absence. In addition, everybody has subjective criteria for his stars. I sometimes rate imperfect panoramas if I like the composition or want to appreciate the effort a new member puts into improving and picking up feedback. Plus many more factors...
It is also important to know that social media platforms are built around exploiting addictive patterns in the human brain. While commercial venues such as Facebook and 500px trick you into counting your "Likes" to make more money, the same addiction also happens on a non-commercial platform like this one here. It only helps to emotionally disconnect from the stars and likes and ratings and concentrate on enjoying the community and the discussion.
Hope this helps.
Martin
