I enjoyed already quite a lot of nice sunsets and sunrises here but this is by far the most spectacular of all, coloring a big part of the sky and the river Scheldt red-orange. I am so glad that I woke up just in time, discovering that my white bedroom changed into a glowing oven. Although the sun was not yet visible, actual sunrise was 2 minutes before photographing at azimuth 100° (Utrecht). I shot 3 panos of this spectacle at 8:00, 8:03 and 8:05 AM. On the latter two, the sun was partly and almost fully above the horizon respectively. A bit by surprise but certainly a bonus, was the fact that I recorded with the latter panos the reflection of direct sunlight now on the NE wall of the Zuidertoren in Brussels, 65.8 km away. The angle seemed to be about perfect, so a second proof was obtained!
Also have a look to the strong ebb flow with several eddies in the 'Pas van Terneuzen' which is an outside bend. These patterns change rapidly making stitching quite challenging.
I would like to point out that no enhancing was done besides the shadows and a bit more light.

Great stuff. I love sunrise pictures before sunrise and sunset prictures after sunset. Cheers, Martin

thx Martin, that is right: just before sunrise or after sunset a lot more structure appears in the colored clouds.

Wow,
a sky painted by William Turner!
