Around here, when someone says "I go to Monte Carlo", he does not mean that he goes on the French Riviera, on the Casino or that attends the jet set ;-)
Montecarlo is also a small town in Tuscany, on top of a very scenic hill.
In this pano, Montecarlo is seen in the distance. The nearby town is Pescia. Pescia is instead a more industrial than tourist town.
The Pescia Valley (that starts at the extreme right, but is not visible in the pano), is called, perhaps inappropriately, Svizzera Pesciatina (Swisse Pescia).

Non come reddito pro capite, ovviamente, bensí come paesaggio...
È abbastanza marcato anche in Corsica, dove alla pianura malsana veniva spesso riservato un puntuale peggiorativo del toponimo in collina: Ghisoni - Ghisonaccia, Bastelica - Bastelicaccia.
E, detto Bastelicaccia, aggiungo anche: Basta cosí, altrimenti qui qualcuno ci Caccia!
