To me the Terneuzen Dow factory, a 4 km2 complex of crackers, tubes and of course explosive and toxic gases, is a potential time bomb as well as a work of art.
It is classified as a Seveso chemical plant and there have been already several more or less severe accidents. When I was photographing on the West Pier on July 30th, a small explosion took place - the second this year - releasing a black cloud of ethylene, although they explained the safety procedure worked perfectly???
But if you look to my pano, shot close to the heart of the complex, you will discover it also is in fact a work of art, the result of hundreds of engineers, scientists and workers. I present a cropped version so one can admire the abundance and complexity of the tubes systems. The width of the tubes complex, between 60-98, is about 1.2 km. I have a wider view if you want but......???

Die Darstellung einer solchen Industrieanlage beeindruckt mich wohl genau so wie eine Gebirgslandschaft, vor allem, wenn die Intentionen des Schöpfers sich mit meinen Vorstellungen decken.
In Microsofts Bing-Englisch:
Not only excellently photographed and combined to a flawless panorama, but also highly interesting because of its explosive content. For me a work with a change gore content, quite rightly by the reference to Seveso.
The appearance of such a industrial plant impressed me probably just like a mountain landscape, especially, if the intentions of the creator coincide with my ideas.

@Giuseppe, I have to admit I was a bit afraid biking so close to the factory, hearing hissing sounds of the burners, pumps, valves and whatever.
@Heinz, that is a nice compliment and yes I believe we have coinciding ideas.
@Jörg, I thought you would skip this pano so clearly a nice surprise from you!
