Simply astonishing - what a lucky day !

Not really. Part of the problem is the huge amount of pictures and panos I take. On this day I drowned myself with 41 panos, though severel are the same and repetitive (only 8 motifs). Going through them is a timeconsuming task, and in addition I am involved in bird- and butterfly breeding screenings, going from 2014 to 2017, giving workloads with deadlines I couldn't postpone. So it has been severel years now trying to catch up. Also, I want to evaluate everything here on pp, so that also takes some time when one is behind. And one simply has to admit that a lot of time must be spent even on a single pano with research and making descriptions and sorting out labels.

Danke, Jan, irgendwie dachte ich mir schon, daß das so gewesen sein muß. Du hast diese sehr seltene Fernsicht aber auch sehr gut aufbereitet.
Vieleicht gelingt es ja auch mal jemandem, die von Kap Arkona aus über 100km entfernten schwedischen Hügel aufzunehmen. Es würde aber nicht so eine Reihe von anderen nicht so weit entfernten Objekten mit zu sehen geben, doch das ist ja gerade das Interessante an Deinem Panoramabild.

@Heinz - interessante Idee. Bei U.Deuschle taucht bei mir eine 96km entfernte und ca. 180m hohe Anhöhe südlich von Blentarp auf. Aber erst wenn ich die Turmhöhe von den tatsächlichen 28m auf 90m erhöhe.
Aber es müssen ja nicht immer "normale" Refraktionsbedingungen herrschen.
Letztes Jahr hatte ich direkt vom Strand auf Hiddensee Møn so gesehen, aber so wie es eigentlich erst ab 30m Höhe möglich gewesen wäre.

Hallo Steffen. I am sure it is possible, it simply takes a panoramist to be there at the right time. If you study the comments on this pano: http://www.panorama-photo.net/panorama.php?pid=12736 you can see how unlikely it was, and yet happened. Heinz found out that the refraction koeff. (0,13 default in udeuschle) on that particular day must have been 0,5. I am therefore confident that a view to Sweden from Rügen is possible, but only on very rare occasions.

@Steffen, das was Jan Dir gerade zum Refraktionskoeffizienten geschrieben hat, wollte ich Dir auch gerade mitteilen. Man kann bei UDeuschle sich auch Ansichten mit anderen Werten für den Refraktionskoeffizienten als mit dem Standardwert 0,13 errechnen lassen. Wie das zu machen ist, habe ich bei Jans Panorama Nr. 12736 beschrieben. Wie physikalisch sinnvoll ein Wert wie z. B. 0,5 ist, kann ich aber nicht sagen.

Although the pano seems to me to be something for a very specialised sub-community, I would like to take the opportunity to thank you for your efforts and contributions here, especially the appreciation shown by having gone through all the work that was published while you were inactive.
