La Ciotat is a commune located to the east of Marseille at an equal distance from Marseille and Toulon.
Notre-Dame de la Garde (Notre Dame Sanctuary) offers a very beautiful panoramic view of La Ciotat and the sea.
The surrounding rock, called Poudingue are spectacular. It is just the bed of an ancient river.
"Le Bec de l' Aigle" (the eagle's beak), 155 meters high, is the most characteristic rock formation of the area.
