This is part 2 of a series of 8 showing some views of the Char Dham Yatra in the Garhwal Range in the Himalayas west of Nepal. Barkot is a small town on the way to Yamunotri, the first of the four (in Hindi:char) abodes (dhams) of the Gods. It is situated above the river Yamuna, which flows in a deep valley, which descends on the edge of town. The mountains on the back are on the other side of this valley. On the left you can see a schoolyard, where the kids in their uniforms are meeting before their lessons.
