Location: Firenze (San Miniato al Monte)      by: Giuseppe Marzulli
Area: Italy      Date: November 2013
Zoom on Florence from San Miniato al Monte. The center of Florence, with the buildings photographed, is 1.6 Km from San Miniato al Monte. I chose this (not easy) frame because it is different from the usual ones and allows you to see in detail in the foreground the artistic heart of the city.

San Miniato al Monte (St. Minias on the Mountain) is a basilica in Florence, standing atop one of the highest points in the city. It is one of the most beautiful churches in Italy and my favorite of Florence. It is located a few hundred meters from Piazzale Michelangelo.

The view of Florence from San Miniato al Monte is quite similar to that from Piazzale Michelangelo, but comparing (pano 14318), you may notice some significant differences.

Wonderful light - I like it!

The light is beautiful but also the focus / concentration on the most important objects of the Firenze Skyline. Not easy to realize from up there ...

I agree. I think also that the view is penalized by the background, which shows in the distance the modern part of the city. And that does not harmonize with the part in the foreground. But it is an unavoidable problem in this frame.

I do not see the background as a penalization of the picture, it is only the the eye of the critical photographer. If you are merely admiring the beautiful buildings of the medieval town, you do not focus on the background....

We have only mentioned some verses of Dante on Florence. Nothing that relates to evaluation of the pano.

Ausgezeichnetes Licht. Sehr schön !! Herzliche Grüße Velten

The attack of the modern rectangles runs, but it´s ineffective in view of the splendor and power of valid old buildings.
