The Pont Valentré (Valentré Bridge) is a 14th-century six-span fortified stone arch bridge crossing the Lot River to the west of Cahors. It has become a symbol of the city.

Yes, there is a curious legend about the bridge, which is also called the Devil's Bridge. On the apex of the central tower there is a stone carved with a devil. Now I have added the label.

From the historical point of view, the bridge was located on the road to Santiago de Compostela and so the pilgrims had to cross to reach the Spanish Sanctuary.
