San Giorgio (or San Giorgio Maggiore) is one of the islands of Venice, lying east of the Giudecca and south of the main island Group.
San Giorgio is known for the Church of San Giorgio Maggiore, designed by Palladio and begun in 1566. The church is a basilica in the classical renaissance style and its brilliant white marble gleams above the water of the lagoon.

It is obvious - currently you are consequently touring Italy hunting prime foto targets. Your night-series is stunning and the Italians are for sure beating the French in generating very romantic illuminations (even without seeing them a protectable [intellectual ??] property)

Dear Christoph, I do not like the showy lights. I think the lights for a city are a bit like the makeup for women ;).
A truly beautiful woman does not need a flashy makeup. And so, a really nice city needs only slight illumination ;).
