Whilst we are going to the mountains on weekends, Hawaiians have to choose between beaches and mountains (why mountains: e.g. to hunt - a big business at least at Kauai). Here you can see the typical weekend beach high life - complete families camp out for two to three nights. Freshwater pipes are installed to bring showering water closer to the tents, barbeque smell is in the air. In the background at the parking lot a trailer with Na Pali coast paddlers - a quite strenuous way to see this beautiful cost is just to leave. Toilet and shower facilities are in an astonishing good shape for a state park. Obviously people DO care.
