Hard to belief that the historical photograph of the operating lighthouse with its well maintained lawns depicts the same place as the panoramic image in the middle. Today it is one of the most attractive destinations in the Booderee National Park, located on beautiful Jervis Bay, ca 250 km South of Sydney.
"National Parks and Wildlife" have made this place accessable again and installed 2 spectecular viewing platforms at the edges of the 35 meter high cliffs. These are prime spots for watching the migrating humpback whales in the months from May to November.
On 2 successive nights we had whales come within meters of the cliffs, what an incredibe experience! I shot the image of the tail of a diving whale the night before the main image.
