What was a grey, misty day turned out into something spectacular. All of the sudden, my office coloured orange and immediately, I realised this was an uncommon sunset. I shot 7 panos in the following 11 minutes.
This pano, at 5:22 PM and the first of a series of 4, shows the moment the sun set and when a very intense, deep orange glow began to spread out.

Canon Eos M6 with EF-M 11-22mm, 8 pics, 22 mm (35.2 mm KB), iso 125, f 5.6, 1/80s, PTGuiPro, 15965x3646 234.3MB TIFF, crop about 10%, downsized 2190x500 672 KB JPEG.

Nice place to work but in acute danger of becoming distracted. The image is looking too dark to me considering, that the sun is still there al little.

@ Jörg. "In acute danger of becoming distracted"
What a disheartening comment. Does it really matter from where I shot this sunset or do I have to go to the Vosges and wait days, weeks or months hopefully to be lucky to shoot this opportunity which you have only a few times a year?
Besides, the subject here is what I observed as quite an impressive sunset. First the very intense deep orange glow spreading out over the sky followed by the color change to a softer orange and then to reddish which you will see in subsequent panos. When the brightness is increased, much of the details in the sky simply disappear so I absolutely disagree this is too dark.

If I was there, I would be in danger of looking out of the window instead of doing my work. I don´t thing that this part of my comment could be disheartening. It means that you are envied because of this view while working. Probably our opinions are divided in the second part of a commentary. I mean that landscape isn´t so dark at sunset and also shortly thereafter. Contradiction and different opinions do not have to be considered as discouragement. Feel free to show what you want. But don´t feel so disapointet if not everybody is able to share your enthusiasm in the same way.

@Jörg. I misunderstood the first part, sorry. For the second part, the problem with this website is that the background is always white and that creates the illusion the pano is too dark while with a dark background it isn't. I always define the parameters with a dark background and that is how it should be because then you distinguish the fine details far better.

I think you all are wrong. It's Tödi an Netherland is so low in altitude, that the sun looks only a little over the horizon in the south (please forgive me my terrible English)
