Isuli Sanguinarii in Corsican language or Isole Sanguinarie in Italian or îles Sanguinaires in French or Sanguinary Islands in English are a small archipelago belonging to the town of Ajaccio (Aiacciu in Corsican), composed of four islands, one of which is much larger than the other.
It is not known exactly because they are called Sanguinarie (Bloody).

Thanks for the comments.
I would say that in this pano only the light is quite Mediterranean. For the rest is a very little Mediterranean scenery.
But that's the charm of visiting the Mediterranean out of season.

Grazie Alberto. Conosco poco Daudet e non sapevo che avesse soggiornato e scritto sul faro delle Sanguinarie. Il racconto che hai linkato č davvero bello ed anche molto adatto alla panoramica.
Perō, Daudet con le discriminazioni non andava tanto per il sottile. Non so sei hai letto quando paragona la laboriositā dei marsigliesi con la prigrizia dei Corsi ;-)

In quel passaggio (ho riletto oggi il racconto) mi ha fatto venire in mente Asterix in Corsica.
Conosco le Lettere dal Mulino per via dell'Arlesiana, che č poi stata musicata da Bizet. Nel 2002, di ritorno da Santiago, sulla strada del Ventoux andai anche a visitare il Mulino di Daudet. Solo dopo venni a sapere che quella del mulino era tutta una finzione, e che in realtā il ciclo di racconti lo aveva scritto comodamente a Parigi.
