We are in one of the most famous Italian wine regions. On the hills to the left of the river Tanaro, where is Guarene, is produced Roero. On the hills to the right of the river Tanaro is produced Barbaresco and Barolo. It is also visible in the distance the town of Alba, which is the capital of this area.

The wines sound more familiar than the view of the riddle was. Fairly industrial down in the valley. Still a very nice pano. Cheers, Martin

Hello Martin. Yours is a just observation. The Roero is behind Guarene and the Langhe are beyond the river. In between is the Alba Industrial Zone.
Alba is home to another major confectionery industry, Ferrero. Ferrero manufactures Nutella and other known confectionery products.
But, as you know, I am more knowledgeable about wine that cake ;-)

The region of tartuffo and the 3 "B"s: Barolo, Barbaresco and Barbera. The latter I prefer from Alba ;-)

My comment come a little late, because I was very busy this week. But when I read the other comments, I think it is apparently time for a Pano-Wine-Tour together.

One does learn something new every day. I would have assumed that this area, extending from here to Cuneo, is drained by the Po going around the mountain near Turin, but right now I have learned about Tanaro which is actually passing through this hilly area.
