Location: Talamone (20 m)      by: Christoph Seger
Area: Italy      Date: 2015-09-01
This is a solved riddle, thanks to everyone who tried to solve it. Werner S was first, Alberto P next. But both have obviously been there - I think with SO many medieval castles in Italy it is doubtless not really a solvable picture.

Regarding the format - I will leave it as it is although I know that it would be better to cut to the right of the castle.

Regarding the place .. Talamone is a nowadays very small village with a very, very long history full of culture, wars, conquers and changes in command. Typical Italian one might say ;-)

I do not know where you are, but I have a vague impression to know the place. We'll see.....

I do not know where it is, but I try.
Spain?

no Giuseppe ... in your home-country ;-)

I give a hint - I love to go by car to my vacation (to buy some wine on the way back) and (alike HJB1 when he goes to hike some remote Italian mountains) I usually do not ride longer than a regular work-shift takes :-))

I haven't got the slightest clue, except that it is Cisalpina - but very dramatic setting! I get such an urge to watch "The Ninth Gate" again. LG Jan.

Here is another rather difficult hint: www.panoramio.com/photo/76569847

Good hint !!

A late idea.
Another similar hint would lie in Valtellina...

A curiosity: if from the Alpine hint you head to a nearby wonderful pass, you find a village with a name very similar to what you find heading from here - I mean, the Standort - for a train...

Finally, I understood. But the worst thing is that, in the past, for some years I was there on holiday. I immediately had the impression to know the place, but I was not able to understand. It is a very beautiful place, in southern Tuscany.

THANKS
to everyone who participated in the riddle. I wrote down the solution now - you see the castle of Talamone

DANKE für die Beteiligung beim Rätseln. Zu sehen ist die Burg von Talamone.

Herzlichst Christoph
