The title of "Quiet flows the Don" often come to my mind, when I am watching Storebælt from above; the resemblance with a mighty river being actually quite right. The Belt was carved out by a glacier advancing from the south, and after its retreat the bed became the main outlet for one of the incarnations of the young Baltic Sea, the Mastogloia Sea:

Still today, there is a strong current from the Baltic Sea to Kattegat/North Sea. As said in #17650, you won't find anything browner than this landscape around this time of year...

Sehr gut aufgenommen; Schocholov's "Der stille Don" war obligate Lektüre meiner Gymnasiumszeit (ein Meisterwerk).

Danko, wenn Deine Gymnasiumszeit in der Schweiz war, dann bin ich sehr erstaunt, daß Scholochows Meisterwerk dort durchgenommen wurde.
Über Jans Assoziation wundere ich mich auch etwas, denn ich habe bis heute nicht verstanden, weshalb das Buch "Der stille Don" (Russ. "Tichij Don") heißt, wo es doch darin heiß hergeht, erst im Krieg zwischen Deutschland und Rußland, dann in den Interventionskriegen gegen Sowjetrußland.
Dein Panorama, Jan, ist aber wieder eine großartige Schau, vor allem der Anfangsteil mit dem gleißenden Licht über dem Storebælt. Der weitere Verlauf bis Fyn's Hoved ist aber etwas für Liebhaber. Ist jedoch wieder alles bis zur Insel Fyn an Horizont richtiggehend subtil gezeichnet, dank Deines guten 300ers. (Ich müßte vielleicht auch noch ein Inselbild mit meinem neuen 70-200er bringen.)

Eine ausgezeichnete Fernsicht, sehr spezielles Licht. Für mich immer wieder verblüffend, wenn weit entferntes Land scheinbar auf einer dünnen Luftschicht über dem Meer schwebt, wie hier am Ende zu sehen ist. LG Fried

Yes. The preliminary indicate, that a semi-trailer from a freight-train tore loose, due to wind and perhaps too low set standars for securing the trailer. Already there are english and german wiki-pages of the accident: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eisenbahnunfall_auf_der_Storeb%C3%A6ltsbroen
