This pano was mostly made to show Nekselø island, but it ended up being kind of long, for severel corny reasons...it felt natural to include all of Samsø island, but I understand if it seems a little long. Again it is a documentation of snowcovered landscapes; who knows if I can do that next winter? A closer inspection shows, that Samsø has more snow than Nekselø. That is because the snow in march fell exclusively from the east, and therefore eastfaces had much more snow. This picture from above shows it quite clearly:

Also it shows the part where I dreamed about looking beyond 90 km; the gap between Røsnæs and Samsø. This was discussed on pano #9964. This pano confirms it wasn't possible. Of more interest is, that the refraction was notably different from another day with a clear view; my next pano will also show that. If you look at the last part of the pano, one can just about make out two hills and a TV tower around Århus. If you compare that part with the same part (the beginning) on pano #9923, you can clearly se different refractionvalues.

Pano made from 30 pics (RAW), 300 mm handheld, iso-100, f/8, 1/800 sec, developed in DPP (neutral, 6800 K, moderate sharpness), stitched in PTgui pro, 0,95 gamma, re-scaling and sharpening in IrfanView.

Sooo good; the horizonline is an eyecatcher!
Greetings, Danko.

A lot of good-looking viewpoints at the island! :-)

Bravo !!

Very interesting. But I don't quite understand your explanation of the differences in snow cover. Aren't we looking at the east face of the nearest island, where there is hardly any snow? LG Wilfried

@Wilfried
Dear Wilfried. Yes we are. The snow fell on landscapes facing east AND long stretches of sea to the east, which you can see on the link. Northern and western Sjælland (+ northen and western Jylland) didn't get much snow, because the snow-showers were building up over the sea, and had dried up 30-40 km inland. The few kilometers of water from my viewpoint to the Nekselø island was not enough to build up extra snow, so Nekselø as the rest of Western Sjælland was on the dry side. Samsø island has +50 km of sea. The same effect happens with northern winds. The next one will show it more obvious. LG Jan.
